Best Powdered Baby Formula

Preparing powdered baby formula is not difficult. It is important to do it the right way because it can greatly affect your baby’s health if you do not do it correctly.
Your baby’s stomach and digestive system are still weak and sensitive, that is why you have to be extra careful when preparing powdered baby formula or any foods that you will give them. Below is a list of steps that you should do to prepare powdered milk.
1. Wash your hands with water and soap. Make sure that your hands are clean before touching any of your baby’s foods or supplies. This is to ensure that your hands are free from bacteria that can cause diseases to babies.
2. Clean the bottle thoroughly. If it is the first time that you will use the bottle, you have to sterilize it by putting it in a pot of boiling water. If your baby already used the feeding bottle, wash it thoroughly with warm water and dishwashing soap. You only need to sterilize if it is the first time that you will us the bottle.
3. Boil water to kill bacteria or other disease-causing organisms. Do not turn off the heat right away when the water reached boiling point. Lower the heat and let it boil for 10 more minutes or so to make sure that the water is germ-free. Set aside to cool.
Do not instantly put the powdered baby formula or the nutritional value will decrease and lumps will be formed. Wait until the water is warm enough, not cold, before you add the powdered milk. Wash you hands again before mixing.
4. After adding the powder, do not shake the feeding bottle hard to mix the powder with water. This will for bubbles which causes gas problems for your baby. You can use a formula mixer or you can stir it gently. Make sure that the powder is thoroughly dissolved.
5. Test the milk by sprinkling a few drops on you wrist. Make sure that the milk is not too hot for your baby to drink.
6. Give the milk to your baby after testing if it is okay for your baby to drink.
